Yesterday, a lecturer (names witheld) in our school ran her car into an electrical (PHCN) concrete pole. I was not really there at the start of the whole event but i was there at the "car removal ceremony". The lecturer said he/she did not really know what happened at that point but that all he/she knew was the the car was in the pole. Thank God there was no student crossing the road at that point in time which ususally is the students "rush hour".
The former dean of natural sciences Prof. G.O. Emerole, the Security Officer, some security men, drivers and some students were on hand to profer a solution to the problem at hand (bringing out the car from the ditch). The lecturer was in shock all through the period and was abit speechless. The hard work and long stress was saved b y the big towing van, which belongs to the mission, which came around and pulled the car out with little or no effort (thanks to machines). As at 9am this morning the vehicle was still parked at the university car park.
We just thank God on the Lecturer's behalf and pray that God would grant him/her the financial power to overcome the disastrous happnings of yesterday evening.
