Hear what Busuyi has to say about his going to office

Great physical since student, it is a great honour and privilege to be part of the genesis of the great revolution in our great school RUN.
The necessity of the representative of our great department to the Student Representative Counsel (SRC) is no more a subject of debate.
The important of our department (physics) to our world in general and school in particular can not be overemphasized. All we need to do Is look around us and see how true this fact is. Physics is surely at the heart of everything. It is in this light that I offer myself as s servant and a mouth piece of our great department to the SRC.

My aims as a representative are:
To convey our plight and pains to the school authority in an appropriately and accepted way and getting adequate responses and solutions.
To justly defend the rights and privileges of the students of our great department by making favourable laws and rejecting unjust once.
To ensure that all benefits of our department are given in full when due.
To ensure a good relationship is fostered between the school authority and our great department.
To ensure that the uniqueness of our department is projected not only to the school but also to the outside world.

Without you, none of this aims is achievable. This is why I ask you to make me your bridge.
Like a bridge, I promise to convey your messages and wishes safely to the authorities. Like a bridge, I promise to make your journey of attention short and assuring.
Like a bridge, I promise to carry you all.
As I am the bridge, you all are my pillars. As long as you hold me firm with your votes, supports and prayers I will not fall nor will I fail you. Hence I say ‘here I am, send me!’

HAVE YOU HEARD?

Have you heard that Deji Adeyemi of political Science has resigned from an association he is the president—Argonauts? News has it that Dinma Mordi of EBS, in the same group has also resigned. According to sources, they are both interested in various positions is RUNSA.
Do you know that Femi Akinsulure’s dream of being a contestant in RUNSA has been dashed? News has it that this is unconnected with the criteria of RUNASEC that contestants must not have received any warning letter from the University.
Guess who has joined the race of politic from chapel; Nick, Fayo and Rachel. They all promise to put godliness in RUNSA
Are you aware that some key people in the Chapel constituency of RUNSA election will be giving their support to only chapel escos? A source close to the chapel confirmed this while speaking on the predicament of not being given the RUNSAEC form when it was requested for.
Do you know that one of the students in tourism who also lost in one of the elective positions in Redeemer’s University is so interested in politics that “he/she” will go any length to play the role of a Godfather?
Have you noticed the way a sociologist has been going about parading himself as a politician when he has not even experienced politics outside a controlled environment like RUN. Speaking publicly, he would say, “I am speaking as a politician, not as … or …” Its incredible how much you can discover when people are allowed to be themselves.
Know ye not that a lot of chapel escos would have loved to go for the election but got knocked off as a result of having to resign from being escos. In their opinion, being an esco is a call from God while being in RUNSA is worldly.
Haven’t you heard the rumor that all executives of various associations are allowed to vote? Any way, RUSAEC will confirm our fears by releasing something on the so controversial clause that disqualifies officers of other associations from being officers of RUNSA.
Have you heard the story going round that the constitution will be and can amended by the elected representatives of RUNSA?
Have you seen Uzo campaign in the magic school bus? You will almost think he has the vision of campaignng for Nigerain president before he leaves RUN.
If you have heard these and more, then, you are current on the election going on in RUN. It means your antenna is quite high and your information can be published by RUN Press. You can send information on the election to

MOSES HALL RESERVOIR GETS ANGRY

Three buckets got drowned in the reservoir of Moses hall on Friday 9th of November 2007.
This incidence marks a fleet in the series of losses of buckets in the Moses hall since they started fetching water directly from the reservoir. Considering that there is power failure around the camp and Moses hall in particular, the director of works had stated that it will be difficult to have water in the rooms consistently since there is need for power to pump the water.
Speaking on the loss of buckets, one of the students Daniel who lost his bucket said, ‘I went to fetch water and the handle removed, and I lost the bucket’. He further said, ‘there should be experienced water fetchers at the reservoir that will help student fetch water’.
Aristo also known as Biggie, speaking on the issue said, ‘the school should keep pumping water into the reservoir so that the reservoir will not get angry again’.

REALITIES OF RUNSA IN YOUR FACE

The basis of human existence is to serve others; service is what Redeemer’s University Students’ Association (RUNSA) is meant for. A lot has been going on lately that leaves the mind wondering if some RUN students are really capable of effecting the change that we have been willing to effect when we go into the larger society.

The good thing about RUNSA is that it has bought out ‘the beauty and the beast’ in students. Students you would have earlier believed would be the most objective have become so biased that one cannot help but ask: Is there still hope in this generation? The truth is that, those that are faithful in little will get more; if students are unable to handle the little that has been placed in their hands now (RUNSA), how would they handle that which is bigger (Nigeria/world).

For any reasonable person to conclude that the world is about ‘politicking’ makes the work of politicians inhumane and anti-human. I believe the aim of any reasonable leader is objectivity and service. If a leader begins to think outside this box to favor personal interest of any constituency (Chapel, hostel, or college), then, we have a big problem in our hand. If a leader is not thinking of how to make others comfortable as much as he/she is comfortable, then, this generation has lost the battle; it can as well continue in the steps of the generation it has so much reviled because they sort solace in tribalism and segregation. Like a student said, ‘this world is full of evil, but life is good’. If we don’t learn to make the world as good as life, selfishness will be the order of the day. Humans will return to the age that was considered ‘harsh and brutish’ by Thomas Hobbes.

Although, it is quite understanding that some of the students have their corrupt parents as role models, they must begin to disabuse their minds from the dirty politics going on in our country and fashion out new systems that will help serve the purpose of human existence. If Britain is practicing parliamentary system of government, United States is practicing presidential system, etc, must we copy them. If the biggest political party in Nigeria is involved in making life unbearable for those that don’t share in their selfish philosophies, MUST WE DO THE SAME.

If our generation does not break itself from the shackle of the past generation, especially as it relates to objectivity and justice, then, the next generation coming behind us will call for our heads and we will be worse than the generation we have so much criticized. If our excuse is that we are just starting and we condone the things we can change now in our foundation, those that will come behind us will have justification for their willful inadequacies, and we will have no moral justification to condemn them or blame them for what ever we think they are doing wrong. Don’t forget, we will remain alumni in this school and our history book will one day be opened for all to see.

Jimi Ogunsanya Manifests his Manifesto, what do you think

MANIFESTO

In notice of the election of representatives into the Redeemer’s University Students Association (RUNSA) I Ogunsanya Adejimi duly show my interest in running for this post. I am 300 level student of the department o f Physical Science.

Physics is life, and the introduction of this life should have a piercing effect unto our school. Through this, I intend on making the world of physics shine by bringing out this usefulness of our department. First and foremost, what brings stability in any engagement is togetherness, and being fully aware that the Physical Science department consists of only one program, which is Physics with Electronics, it is noted that it is of paramount for an association to be created, and with this togetherness, we can achieve this feat of creating our own association. I basically think the running of this post is an act of showing solidarity in the basic aim of bringing up this beloved department.

This mission is of an aim of creating a link between the school authority and the department, and I believe that in me, I can help in informing, and getting us informed on how we can better this department for good. I also believe that I can impact a significant influence in strategizing a positive effect in view of our current situation, and assure that greater things are of optimum.

Finally, I intend to bring the awareness of the need of adequate equipments in the department which may be useful to us, and ensure that lectures are properly organized so as to attain perfect understanding between the students and the lecturers. If elected, I will make it of priority to see that our department is not of any lack and fully use up this opportunity to engage in activities which may enhance in the development in the department and the school.

In the decision of being a faithful servant to our department, I cordially conclude by indulging you all to see this vision as I also do.

Thank you.
